Our Booking Terms – Quick Summary – (see below for full terms and conditions)

  • Deposit required to secure your date
  • Booking is confirmed once deposit + form received
  • Balance payable before the event or on the night (cash/BACS)
  • Cancel more than 1 month before: deposit kept
  • Cancel within 1 month: full fee due
  • We’ll always try to provide a replacement DJ if something unexpected happens
  • You must ensure the venue has power, access and licences
  • You are responsible for guest behaviour and equipment safety
  • If the DJ or equipment is threatened or interfered with, we may pause or stop without refund
  • If our sound system fails, a pro-rata refund is given
  • Please send playlists 2 weeks before your event
  • We comply with UK GDPR regarding your data

Fish Mobile Discos – Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services supplied by Fish Mobile Discos (“we”, “us”, “our”). By confirming a booking, returning a booking form, or paying a deposit, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

These website Terms provide a summary of our booking conditions. Your Booking Form and its attached Terms & Conditions form the legally binding contract and take priority over this page.

2. Booking and Deposit

2.1 A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your event date.

2.2 A booking is not confirmed until the deposit and completed Booking Form have been received and acknowledged by us.

2.3 Quotations remain valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.

3. Payment

3.1 The remaining balance must be paid by BACS before the event or in cash on the night if previously agreed in writing.

3.2 Cheques are not accepted.

3.3 Failure to pay the balance may result in cancellation without refund of the deposit.

4. Client Cancellations

4.1 Cancellations must be made in writing (email accepted).

4.2 More than 1 month before event: deposit retained.

4.3 Within 1 month of event: full fee becomes payable.

4.4 Once cancelled, the date is released and no longer secured.

5. Cancellations by Us (Force Majeure)

We may cancel the booking without liability where performance is not possible due to reasons beyond our control, including illness, equipment theft, vehicle breakdown, extreme weather, venue closure or unsafe conditions.

We will make every reasonable effort to supply a replacement DJ. If this is not possible, a full refund of all monies paid will be issued. This is the extent of our liability.

6. Venue Requirements

The Client must ensure the venue provides:

  • Two 13 amp / 240V power sockets
  • A safe, accessible setup area
  • Adequate time for setup and pack-down
  • All licences required for entertainment and music playback
  • Our equipment must not be placed directly on a dancefloor.

7. Safety and Client Responsibility

7.1 The Client is responsible for guest behaviour and ensuring a safe working environment for the DJ.

7.2 Damage to equipment caused by guests is chargeable at current replacement or repair costs.

7.3 The Client must advise us of any guests with sensitivities to lighting, haze or sound effects.

8. Equipment and Technical Issues

8.1 Equipment is regularly serviced and PAT tested.

8.2 In the unlikely event of equipment failure:

  • On-site repair will be attempted
  • If total sound failure prevents performance, a pro-rata refund will be issued
  • Lighting failure alone does not qualify for refunds

9. Zero-Tolerance Policy

We reserve the right to pause or terminate a performance if:

  • guests act aggressively or abusively
  • the environment becomes unsafe
  • illegal activity occurs in the DJ area
  • guests interfere with equipment

No refunds will be issued if performance stops due to these conditions.

10. Children’s Events

Adult supervision must be provided at all times.

Children must not touch or obstruct equipment.

11. Music Requests

We welcome playlists but cannot guarantee every song.

Playlists should be submitted at least 2 weeks before the event.

12. Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We only collect information necessary to manage your booking.

13. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

  • venue restrictions or limitations
  • noise limiters or power cuts
  • environmental conditions affecting performance
  • guest-caused damage or disruption
  • consequential losses (e.g. travel, accommodation, emotional distress)

Total liability is limited to the amount paid for the booking.

We retain booking records for 6 years for legal and accounting purposes before secure deletion.
